On Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Afook-Chinen Hilo Civic Auditorium, the community gathered for the Memorial Service honoring Hawaii Island Fire Department Fire Chief Kazuo Todd. The service served as a heartfelt tribute to a leader who loved his work, served his county with humility, and cared deeply for every person he encountered. Through moving words, music, and stories shared by family colleagues, and community leaders, the program reflected a life defined by service above self, quiet strength, and genuine aloha.
