Episode: Early Maui Hawaiians. One of the largest tracts of undeveloped land in all Hawaii, Kahikinui during ancient times was home to a large population of Hawaiians. Because much skill and hard work are required to live in such a dry lava landscape, only fifteen homestead families currently live there today. Our afternoon visit there made us quickly realize why this very special place. April 2025.
